Welcome DCS Students and Parents
Dear Parents,
The information on this site will support my 6th grade social studies and language arts classes. Students in 6th grade social studies learn about Ancient History. Your student will be learning about the beginnings of human civilization. We make in depth studies of Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, Greece and Rome.
We will also explore how history has been infuenced by the Ancient Hebrews and Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity. Students will discover some of the timeless similarities and differences we share with people who lived thousands of years ago. Throughout the year, your child will get an opportunity to express their knowledge through fun and fascinating projects and activities.
I encourage you to check this site often and browse around. Get familiar with our units of study and class expectations. The more informed you are about what is happening in class, the more you will be able to support your child’s education.
